Write a topic sentence that states the main idea.
Write sentences that include details that support the topic.
Write a closing sentence to conclude the summary paragraph.

Rule-Based Strategy:
· Delete trivial material that is unnecessary to understanding.
· Delete material that is redundant (repetitive, says the same thing in another way).
· Substitute broad terms for lists (e.g., ‘flowers’ for daisies, tulips and roses).
· Select a topic sentence, or invent one if it is missing.
